【微信公众平台】搜索“yachaolaoshi”，获取更多节目资讯。 There is a Lonesome Place in the Sky                                                —-Adlai Stevenson 艾德莱·史蒂文森（Adlai Ewing Stevenson II，1900年2月5日—1965年7月14日），美国政治家，以其辩论技巧闻名，被誉为当时仅次于温斯顿·丘吉尔的天才，曾于1952年和1956年两次代表美国民主党参选美国总统，但皆败给艾森豪威尔。后被任命为美国驻联合国大使，在古巴导弹危机中，发挥了重要作用。他从来没有当上总统，却被他的支持者称为“美国从来没有过的最好的总统。” 英国首相温斯顿·丘吉尔（Winston Churchill）是在第二次世界大战期间，带领英国人民取得反法西斯战争伟大胜利的民族英雄，是与斯大林、罗斯福并立的“三巨头”之一，是矗立于世界史册上的一代伟人。 Today we meet in sadness to mourn one of the world’s greatest citizens. Sir Winston Churchill is dead. The voice that led nations, raised armies, inspired victories and blew fresh courage into the hearts of men is silenced. We shall hear no longer the remembered eloquence and wit, the old courage and defiance, the robust serenity of indomitable faith. Our world is thus poorer, our political dialogue is diminished and the sources of public inspiration run thinly for all of us.
