On June 28 2012, the United Nations General Assembly designated March 20 of every year as the International Day of Happiness in order to recognize the need for a more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth that promotes sustainable development, poverty eradication, happiness and the well-being of all peoples.
Since then, so-called Happiness Activists and Happiness Charities have organized events around the world with this years theme being "YOUR HAPPINESS IS PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER."
So, what exactly is happiness and how can it be better incorported into government policies and development plans? These quesitons and more on this edition of Today where we explore the 2nd annual International Day of Happiness.
