During every Summer Solstice, the locals of the remote Chinese city of Yulin will held a celebration by eating dog meat.
Around 10,000 cats and dogs are butchered and eaten by the locals of the city, in the name of which literally translates to 'jade forest'.
It is believed there that eating dog meat allows the diner to muster up the internal heat to keep the cold of winter at bay.
This festival comes around every year, since the 1990s.
