介绍:
Hello, everyone. Welcome to News in the minutes. An international views to the world news from both sides of the planets.I’m Jack, with John Fraser in the studio. 大家好,欢迎来到荔枝FM876835,今天带给大家的是一个全新的新闻类节目,如果有你更好的建议和意见,请添加微信:21832082,今天我们谈论的是教育类的话题, young children and art from NPR news. When children reach 6 years old, their drawings matter. Not because of those purple unicorns or pinstripe dragons but because of how kids sketch themselves and the very real people in their lives. In a new study, researchers found that children who experienced chaos at home — including high levels of noise, excessive crowding, clutter and lack of structure — were more likely to draw themselves at a distance from their parents or much smaller in size relative to other figures. In some cases, these kids drew themselves with drooping arms and indifferent or sad faces. Their drawings were a reflection of this simple fact: Chaos at home meant parents were interacting with them less and, in many cases, the interactions that were happening were shorter and interrupted. (1)Well,John, as a father of four ,what do you think of the phenomenon how art influences young children? I do believe that art affects children in a positive way. If you try to explain something to a child, visual aids work well. It helps teach a child how to take an idea and view it. How do you teach a child how a car moves? If you can draw a simple picture, it will help them understand a complex mechanism and turn it into a basic idea for them. The same is true when trying to help them understand structures. (2)Just like the sample question in TOEFL ibt test, the article “young children and art” talks about how art has a great impact upon children because drawing can provide a platform of complex emotion better than words. And most importantly, art can encourage persistence that children can develop patience and concentration in the activities. My son is in Engineering School now. I feel a lot of that is because he always looked at diagrams of things, like kites and such, when he was younger. He saw the drawings and it helped him to understand what was happening. (3)Would you please give our audience some suggestions of learning art? It is a great idea to give young children paper and crayons and let them draw! The more they draw, the easier it will be for them to be able to express themselves. Take the time to review their drawings with them and you will find they will be more open to express themselves with you later. They may not be able to sit down and have a deep conversation with you when young, but you are building a solid platform and trust for later on. It is also encouraging them to not be afraid to speak up later. Okay, thank you for coming to our program today. I’ll see you in two days cause John and I will take a business trip to another city.
