明月几时有，把酒问青天。不知天上宫阙，今夕是何年。我欲乘风归去，又恐琼楼玉宇，高处不胜寒。起舞弄清影，何似在人间。
转朱阁，低绮户，照无眠。不应有恨，何事长向别时圆？人有悲欢离合，月有阴晴圆缺，此事古难全。但愿人长久，千里共婵娟。

When did the luminous moon come into being?
I raise my glass to ask the heavens.
I wonder, in the celestial palace,
What year the gods celebrate tonight.
I wish to return, astride the wind, to the firmaments above.
Yet I fear in the gelid jade towers,
The cold I could not abide.
Dancing with my lonely shadow under the moonlight,
Is it not better to stay in the mundane world?
The moon slips past cinnabar buildings,
hanging by the window,
shining into sleepless eyes.
Her heart must not hold rue,
Yet wherefore must she grow full always at times of separation?
In life we find parting and reunion, sadness and joy,
And the moon, too, will wax and wane.
Since the ages long ago, so it has never been ideal.
I only hope that through time, our affection will remain.
Though between us lies a distance of a thousand miles,
Tonight upon us the same moonlight shall smile.
