The citadel overlooks the land of the fallen Qin.
Shrouded in haze, the ferries await.
I anguish at the thought of leaving you,
The parting of ways is the dutiful official’s fate.
To have within the seven seas a soulmate such as you,
At opposite ends of the earth you are still by my side.
And so, as our paths diverge,
These reluctant tears we must not abide.
