K：Today let's talk about a Japanese animated movie...
B：Are you referring to Your name? Oh, that movie is amazing.
K：Nope, I'm talking about Detective Conan, the darkest nightmare. It is the twentieth installment of the Case Closed film series based on the manga series of the same name. The series was introduced into American under the name case closed with the characters given Americanized names: Kudo Shinichi is transformed into Jimmy Kudo, and Mori ran is called Rachel Moore in this vision.
L：Detective Conan is one of my childhood memories, I still remembered the days when I rushed back to home after school, turned on the television, watched this eagerly.
K：It tells a story about Jimmy Kudo, who is a high school detective. During an investigation, he is attacked by members of a crime syndicate known as the Black Organization. They force him to swallow an experimental poison, but instead of killing him, the poison transforms him into a child. Adopting the pseudonym Conan Edogawa and keeping his true identity a secret, Kudo lives with his childhood friend Rachel Moore and her father Richard, who is a private detective. Throughout the series, he tags along on Richard's cases, but when he is able to solve one, he uses a tranquilizer needle to put Richard to sleep, and impersonates his voice to reveal the solution to the case.
L：Sounds familiar, so what's the movie about?
K：A Black Organization spy, codenamed Curaçao, infiltrated the NPA Security Bureau Office, stealing the NOC list of MI6, BND, CSIS, FBIand CIA agents working undercover in the Black Organization. She fled to the playing center after the explosion, where she met a bang of Conan.That's how everything begins. Besides, This 20th anniversary movie cost more than any one of the former movies, it is a movie worthy of watch.
L:Since 1994, the series has over 900 episodes, 20 films,12 OVAs and 6 magic files yet. The author Gosho Aoyama is really responsible . He will turn to his doctor brother for help if he met trouble in creating new manga series to make it true. While reading his manga, you can actually learn something. I was attracted by the plots when I read manga a second time several months ago. There are something different when you read it after you grow up, you will find something sophisticated, something gentle, you see more and you will find it totally different from what it was like in your childhood memory. Even a second time, I was still moved by the love between Jimmy and Rachel. But I found more interactions between them which convinced me they were born to be together.
K:Can you give us some examples?
L:Yes, remember a senior expressed her affection to Jimmy?At that time he turned her down and said "l already liked a girl when I was young, she was tough but easily cried.She's such a peculiar girl. "In the latest chapter, the author wrote a story about their first meet when they're in kindergarten. Jimmy was flipped by Rachel 's innocent smile when she showed Jimmy her crafted card made for him to replace his shattered one. In reward, Rachel cried out,asking little jimmy to stop calling her weepie, which perfectly explain what Jimmy previously said about his liked girl .
K:That's so sweet!And every time at the edge of being transformed back into Conan, the only person Jimmy put in heart is always Rachel.
L:Another lovely couple I like is Harley Hartwell and Kristen Thomas.(means Hadori Heiji and tomaya Kazuha) On mermaid curse case, they fell down from a cliff, holding each other's hand tight. Kristen stabbed Harley with a stick tried to give herself up, while Harley said he would never let her go.
K:A breaking news is that the remade first episode is going to be released on 8th December in Japan, I can't wait to see it at once!
L:After twenty years' waiting is just the first episode?
K:Cited Rachel"the longer you wait, the happier you meet" . Instead of simply renewing the image quality, the remake first episode tells the whole story of "Roller coaster murder case", arranging all the clues appeared in manga about this case and adding new plots. It lasts for two hours, nearly as long as the film vision. The films have been released in April of each year starting in 1997. Each film features an original plot line rather than being an adaptation of the manga's story.
L:It's said that crimson love letter is about Harley and Kristen's love story, the only thing I want is to watch it next year in the cinema.
