B: Yep, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ is such a well-known story for us.Initially as a fairy tale from France, and then as an animated film from Disney. We hope this program will help awake your memories for this story, so that you can enjoy the movienext week.
A:Once upon a time, there was a handsome but heartless prince, whose selfishness caused an enchantress to turn him into a hideous beast. He had only one hope for freedom: winning a woman&`&s love despite his ugliness. The years passed; the Beast remained alone. Then one day, Maurice, a poor inventor, accidentally stumbled upon the Beast&`&s lair. The angry Beast instantly swore to kill him -- until he saw Belle, Maurice&`&s lovely daughter, who had come to the palace to fight for her father&`&s life. The Beast promised not to harm Maurice on one condition: Belle must stay with him. And so began Belle&`&s lesson in the true meaning of beauty……a lesson that would bring her love and happiness ever after.
B:In the original "Beauty and the Beast" fairy tale,Belle is depicted as rather traditional fairy tale heroine in terms of personality.When English animation director Richard Purdum was assigned to the film,the story was kept rather similar to the original fairy tale.Therefore,few changes were made to the characters and their personalities generally remained the same; Belle remained as kind,generous,sympathetic and soft-spoken as she did in the fairy tale,but nothing more.According to Charles Solomon,author of the behind the scenes book Tale as Old as Time:The Art and Making of Beauty and the Beast,Belle was a rather bland character,who constantly being "upstaged" by more humorous and engaging characters.
C: In the original tale,the Beast is seen to be kind hearted for the most part,and gentleman-like,with only an occasional tendency to be hot-tempered.In Disney&`&s variant of the tale,the Beast originally appeared to be constantly angry and depressed.As opposed to his original counterpart,the creators gave him a more primal nature to his personality,which truly exploited his character as an untamed animal.To reflect his early personality,the Beast is seen shirt-less,with ragged,dark gray breeches,and a ragged reddish-colored cape with a golden colored circular-shaped clasp.Despite the actual color of his cape being a dark reddish color,the Beast&`&s cape is more often referenced to be purple.The reason for this change in color is unknown,although the most likely reason is that the color purple is often associated with royalty.
A:After the Beast saves Belle from a pack of wolves,his dress-style changes,reflecting a more refined personality.His dress style becomes more disciplined,and the most referenced form of dress is his ballroom outfit,which consisted of a golden vest over a white dress shirt with a white kerchief,black dress pants trimmed with gold,and a navy blue ballroom tail coat trimmed with gold,worn during the film&`&s ballroom dance sequence.Upon his reform under his love interest Belle,his personality changes to refined,but naive about the world at the same time.
B:The characters are charming enough, even though compared with others in Disney, it never fade.
Walt Disney Pictures has released the final trailer for its remake of “Beauty and the Beast.” The movie will come out in March.
In the 2017 version of the romantic fantasy film, real-life actress Emma Watson plays Belle and actor Dan Stevens plays the Beast. Other well-known actors include Ewan McGregor, Emma Thompson and Stanley Tucci.
C:The latest trailer shows Belle as she is imprisoned by the Beast in his large castle. It also shows her meeting some of the castle&`&s so-called staff members. They include household objects, like candles, teacups and teapots. The trailer also shows Belle and the Beast dancing together. Watson is seen wearing Belle&`&s iconic yellow dress.
The final trailer also includes the film&`&s beloved song. Ariana Grande and John Legend sing the new version of the emotional ballad.
Tuesday&`&s trailer quickly became the top trending video on YouTube.
A:Fans of the earlier “Beauty and the Beast” are pleased that the live-action version looks very similar to the animated classic. One fan even created a video comparing scenes from the 1991 film to scenes from the newest trailer.
But, some say Disney should have tried to make the live-action version more original. Writer Michael Welsh wrote on Nerdist.com that if the movie is not a success, “a major criticism will be that it wasn&`&t allowed to be its own thing and to exist on its own terms.”
