故事简介：A beautiful, but self-absorbed prince was thrown into a spell of ugliness and loneliness because he turned down a request from an enchantress meanly and inexorably. He got a magical mirror to watch the world through in his isolation. He needed to learn to love a person for who they are, and got them to love him before a magical rose he also was given lost its petals.
In the village a beautiful young girl felt lonely and misunderstood, because she read books, and seemed to be the only one.Her father once was accidently caught by the Beast. Belle, the girl, went looking for him, ended up staying there with the Beast while her father got free only in this way.
She read books, enjoyed musical numbers such as "Beauty and the beast" and "Be our guest", and managed to fall in love with the beast. In the village the ignorant and manly Gaston was upset that Belle wasn't interested in him. When her father claimed she was trapped with a beast, Gaston saw the opportunity to have him committed to a mental hospital, thereby forcing Belle to marry him. This almost worked, but the beast let Belle out and she was just in time to save her father and prove there was a Beast. She showed them the magical mirror and Gaston took a posse to go and kill the beast. After Gaston had failed, Belle was reunited with the Beast. Belle did in fact fall in love with the Beast, thus breaking his spell.
Scene1 (Cut to int hallway leading to library.BEAST and BELLE are alone.)
BEAST: Belle,there's somethingI want to show
you.(Begins to open the door,then stops.) But first,you have to close your eyes.(She
looks at him questioningly.) It's a surprise.
(BELLE closes her eyes, and BEAST waves his hand in front of her.Then he opens the door.He leads her in.)
BELLE: Can I open them?
BEAST: No,no.Not yet.Wait here.
(BEAST walks away to draw back the curtains.He does, and brilliant sunlight
spills into the room. BELLE flinches reflexively as the light hits her face.)
BELLE: Now can I open them?
BEAST: All right.Now.
BELLE: I can't believe it. I've never seen so many books in all my life!
BEAST: You--you like it?
BELLE: It's wonderful.
BEAST: Then it's yours.
BEAST: Oh,thank you so much.
Scene 2
The Beast was sitting on the snowy garden and reading a book while Belle was approaching to him.
Belle: What are you reading?
Beast: Nothing.
Belle: Guinevere and Lancelot.
Beast: Well...Actually...King Author and the Round Table.Knights,men,swords and so on.
Belle: But still it's a romance.
Beast: All right.
Belle: I never thank you for saving my life.
Beast: Well, I never thank you for not leaving me to be eating by wolves.
The servants are having fun together.It had been a long time that they weren't having fun like this.
Belle: They know how to have a good time.
Beast: Yes, but when I enter the room, the laughter dies.
Belle: Me too.The villagers say that I am a funny girl.But I am not sure they mean it as a compliment.
Beast: I am sorry.Your village sounds terrible.
Belle: Not as lonely as your castle.
Beast: What do you say we'd runaway?
旁白： They leaved for a room from the snowy garden.
Beast： Another little gift from the enchantress. A book that will allow you to escape.
Beauty： How amazing!
Beast：It was the cruelest trick of all. It was just another curse.
Beast： The outside world has no place for a creature like me.But it can for you.
旁白： Beast held Belle' s hands, pulling them on the book.
Beast： Think of the one place you' ve always wanted to see. Now, find it in your mind' s eye. And then teel it in your heart.
Beast： Where di you take us?
Beauty： Paris.
Beast：Oh! Paris.I love Paris. What would you like to see first? Notre Dame? Los Chanps-Elysees? No? Too touristy?
旁白： Belle looked around the poor house.
Beauty： It' s so much more than I imagined.
Scene 3
BEAST: Belle? Are you happy here with me?
Belle: Yes. If only I could see my father again.
BEAST: There is a way.
(The pair adjourn to BEAST's lair,where BEAST hands BELLE the MAGIC MIRROR.)
BEAST: This mirror will show you anything,
anything you wish to see.
BELLE: I'd like to see my father,please.
(The MAGIC MIRROR shines into life,and BELLE
turns her head away as it flashes. Then it reveals MAURICE fallen in the woods,coughing
and lost. BELLE is shocked.BEAST looks at her with concern.)
BELLE: Papa.Oh,no. What are they doing to him?He is in trouble and he is all alone .
BEAST: Then..then you must go to him.
BELLE: What did you say?
BEAST: I release you. You are no longer my prisoner.No time to waste.
BELLE: You mean.. I'm free?
BEAST: Yeah.
BELLE: Oh,thank you. Hold on,Papa.I'm on my way.
(BELLE turns to leave,then turns back and pushes the MAGIC MIRROR back to BEAST.)
BEAST: Take it with you,so you'll always have a
way to look back,and remember me.
BELLE: Thank you for understanding how much he needs me.
(BELLE turns to leave and BEAST looks down in depression.）
Scene 4
(BEAST's anger slowly melts off his face,and the look of compassion returns. He pulls GASTON back onto the roof.)
BEAST:
Get out!
(I le shoves GASTON to the ground.Above,BELLE
comes out on a balcony.)
BELLE: Beast!
BEAST: Belle!
(BEAST begins to climb the tower until he reaches the balcony.He hangs over the side.)
BEAST: Belle? You came back! You came back.
BELLE: Of courseI came back.I couldn't let
them..Oh this is all my fault.If only I'd gotten here sooner.
BEAST: Maybe it's better this way.
BELLE: Don't talk like that.We're together now.Everything's going to be fine.You'll see.
BEAST:At least I got to see you one...last..time.
(BELLE pulls BEAST's paw up to her cheek.He holds it there for a second,then drops it.His head falls back,and his eyes close.BELLE
drops the paw and puts her hands to her mouth.She can't believe this has happened.)
BELLE: (Crying) No,no! Please! Please! Please, Don't leave me!I love you!
Suddenly,the curse was broken and then the Beast turned back to prince.Everything became back to normal.Belle and prince got together, happily ever after.
