A:Ah I feel exhausted about my last year in college as I am going to be a senior in less than half a year. However I have no idea what to do about my first job. You know postgraduate education is the last thing I wanna do.
N:I see. I wonder what the juniors usually do in their last stage of their college career besides job hunting and preparing further study.

G:Hi I am...
I wanna share with you some information about the last task you should do in the last stage no matter you find a job or study further——Graduation design.
Through graduation design, students can comprehensively apply the various theoretical knowledge and skills they have learned, and perform comprehensive, rigorous techniques and basic aptitude exercises. It means students can use what they have learned in the class and do some real things.
A: it sounds like graduation paper. Is the same thing? Just another name?
G:Technically no.
I think the graduation design is the basic of the graduation paper. You know, in academic majors, we use the data or evidence to persuade readers why we need to do the study, and the conclusion is right. Meanwhile, make our experiment and paper is valuable. So before writing the paper, I think we need to take a big time to design the experiment, and try our best to get the right answer.
N:When should we start a graduation project? Did you start to write your paper?
G:I think it depends on our mentors, they will contact us and inform us the right time to start the graduation project. Meanwhile, our mentors will impact us some key information as well as basic plan. I didn’t start to write my paper, because I took much time to prepare my experiment, like connecting with company to customize the structure of the experiment, discussing with my partner about some small details. However, I am not perplexed that I didn’t start my paper, because I know my experiment crystal clear.
A: If we find it hard to complete our graduation project, what should we do? Restart?
G:If we encounter the big problem in our graduation project, we need to inform our mentor. They will help us. And I think it depends on the which stages we are situated in. If at the beginning, we can change the experiment plan or restart. But if at the end of the project, the mentor will help us to find which part exist mistakes and fix it. Maybe sometimes, the conclusion is not the same like what we thought, it is the right conclusion. too.
N: Actually, it sounds complicated for me to understand right now. But I wonder, are there any delightful things during the project?
G: Yes, of course. As for myself, my graduation design is about the utilization of agricultural waste. For example, repeated utilization of straw or cow dung. And the most interesting things in my work is that I need to work with a foreign doctoral student. He comes from Egypt, and we discuss some academic issues in English of course. But when he chatting with his friends in lab or office, he will use Arabic. At that moment, I am eager to learn another language ——Arabic.
N: Wow, it’s really funny. At first, I thought the project must be done all by oneself.
A:How important dose graduation project mean to a graduate?
G:It is very important I think, especially in our major. We count on the graduation project to complete the paper. From the project we get the measurements of the experiment, which are the core of the paper. In my project, I concern about measurements like temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, water flow meter and so on. So these data enrich my paper and make it convective.
N:In your opinion, what is the most challenging step of it?
In my project, the most challenging is the workload, sometime I could not finish it by myself, I needed help from my partner and friends. Fortunately, they are so friendly, they are willing to help me and gave me some excellent advice about my project.
N: Well, all things are difficult before they are easy. Starting a project needs guts.
A:Any suggestions to us, the graduate to be？
G:Make a well designed schedule of the project, and don’t be afraid of asking help from teachers or friends. They will help us a lot and gain the right conclusion.
N: Although I’m sophomore, the graduation design might seem to be a little bit far, but the chances are always waiting for those who prepare enough, it is never too early to think about it. I’ve learned a lot.
