Reuters reports that a Malaysia Airlines passenger plane with 166 people on board landed safely at Kuala Lumpur airport on today, Monday, after being forced to abandon a flight to India's southern city of Bangalore because of problems with its landing gear.
Anxious Indian relatives of the passengers gathered at the airport seeking details of their loved ones onboard the flight.
Here is one of the relatives of flight MH192 passenger Shreya:
"My sister was supposed to come, now they say it has landed there, so a little relieved. But now I don't know the status yet. I don't know what time again they will join (us) here so I am not very sure of anything."
Malaysia Airlines had said earlier that the Boeing 737-800, carrying 159 passengers and seven crew, had suffered a malfunction with its right-hand landing gear upon takeoff, and would be forced to attempt an emergency landing.
