Respect Venice. You’re welcome here but you must play by the rules or pay for it.
Venice is starting a new campaign, aimed at tourists, to encourage them to behave well in the city. It is intended to deal with the trouble from visitors. Locals are not happy at their home turning into a global playground.
Visitors will be reminded not to swim in canals, make picnic stops out of public areas, pause too long on bridges, drop litter, ride bikes through the city or see sights in bathing suits ...
Those who go against the rules will be fined anything from £25 to £500.
The “behavioural campaign” has 12 golden rules — both banning and encouraging, and will be published in 10 languages, including English, Chinese, Arabic and Korean.
No trip to Italy would be complete without a visit to Venice. Venice is a place that everyone dreams of visiting at least once in life. Its beautiful canals, classic architecture and fascinating ancient history make it a unique city in the world, with a timeless romantic charm.
Among its many attractions and traditions, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a magical atmosphere you will never forget.
