Three years ago, Starbucks opened the world’s first Reserve Roastery in Seattle. In December 2017, the first Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room outside the United States opened in Shanghai, covering about 2,700 square metres.
As you step into the roastery, you’ll be attracted by everything you see — coffee roasting and brewing, Italian baking and exquisite local craftsmanship. It is a wonderland for coffee lovers. They can not only taste delicious coffee and cakes, but also learn a lot about coffee. For example, where coffee beans grow, how they are roasted and how they are turned into tasty coffee with different flavors.
In the middle of the roastery, there is a large copper cask. Visitors can see many Chinese characters on it, like sharing, vision and future. These characters stand for the culture of Starbucks and it’s also a great way to combine coffee culture with the Chinese culture.
The roastery is dedicated to bringing customers the best coffee experience. It is not just another flagship shop; it’s a coffee roastery factory, a coffee cultural museum and a paradise for all coffee lovers around the world.
