Chinese stocks plunged on Tuesday in a break from a months-long boom.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index plummeted more than five percent, the sharpest fall in more than five years.
The slump ends strong rallies spanning five straight trading days since last Tuesday.

The tumble brings the index below the 3-thousand point threshold. This comes after the index broke 3-thousand on Monday, the first time since 2011.
A total of 173 listed companies on the A-share market fell by the daily limit of 10 percent.
