(5.5)或曰：“雍也仁而不佞。”子曰：“焉用佞？禦人以口給，屢憎於人，不知其仁。焉用佞？”
Some one said, “Yong is truly benevolent, but he is not good at his speeches.” The Master Confucius said, “Why should he be good at that? They who argue the matter out gain nothing but hatred, I don’t know whether he is benevolent. Why should he need to be good at speeches?”
