European stock markets rose for a sixth-straight day on Wednesday, boosted by solid Chinese export data and well-received corporate results.
Among notable movers in Europe, shares of Société Générale gained 4.7 percent after the French bank swung a profit in the fourth quarter.
Shares of Heineken rose 0.4 percent after the Dutch brewer said it expects improved performance in 2014 as the global economy recovers.
On the numbers front, data showed euro-zone industrial production dropped 0.7% in December, slipping more than forecasted.
Shaking off the negative data, Germany's DAX 30 gained 0.7 percent and France's CAC 40 climbed 0.5 percent.
U.K. stocks underperformed most of the major European indexes after the Bank of England updated its forward guidance.
The U.K.'s FTSE 100 closed slightly higher.
