"Xuan Zang", an epic based on the life of an eminent Chinese monk who lived over 14-hundered years ago, is set for release on April 29.
The film tells the story of the monk Xuan Zang's arduous journey alone to ancient India, seeking Buddhist scriptures and bringing them to the oriental lands.
His endeavor was eventually turned into the one of China's greatest classic fictions, "Journey to the West."
Actor Huang Xiaoming plays the leading role as the monk Xuan Zang, while other cast members include Xu Zheng, Pu Bajia and Luo Jin.
The movie is directed by Huo Jianqi, with acclaimed director Wong Kar Wai acting as artistic director.
