Anchor: The Chinese mainland thriller "Inside the Girls", which tells of a story that took place among four girls who share a dormitory at a medical college in the 1930s, will be screened this coming Friday(12th).
Director Liang Ting holds high expectations for its box office earnings. Meanwhile, the main actresses of the movie also reveal their first-ever acting experience in a thriller film. Xu Fei has more.

Liang Ting, a movie producer who is well-known for producing film The Lost Bladesman, or Guan yun chang in Chinese in 2009, now turns herself into a director via "Inside the Girls".
Although she set the film during an older era China, Liang Ting explains her new film is actually based on modern-day reality in Chinese society.

"Female audiences would be attracted by conflicting emotions, while the sexy scene clips excite and stimulate male audiences. The film represents familiar things in a way that is true to life in student dorms in present-day Chinese society. And it's a story about envy and jealousy that cause a selfish hatred."
Zhao Duona, one of the main actresses in the film, plays a timid girl called Fang Huiru. Though Fang appears on good terms with other roomies, she is, in fact, much more complicated than what she appears to be.
In an exclusive interview, Zhao explains what happened to her room mates and herself in the film.

"I act a close friend of Xia Mengqian since childhood, and Wen Xin acts Xia. We are on good terms with the other two roomies. And many weird incidents did take place in our dorm, entangling all of us. These incidents drove us to spot clues and discover who the murderer behind is."
In fact, "Inside the Girls" is not Liang Ting's first attempt at making thriller films. Before this, she has produced Blood Stained Shoes in 2012 and directed Haunting Love the same year. Blood Stained Shoes came in at 2nd place on the Top 10 box-office ranking in the Chinese horror film chart.
Talking about her expectations for box-office earnings from "Inside the Girls", Liang Ting appears very self-confident.

"Few of horror movies produced on the Chinese mainland is about ghosts. Then thriller films need to be produced on the basis of a good story. However, the majority of mainland thrillers are not well-reasoned. "Inside the Girls" is based on a well-reasoned story, with much suspense adding interest to it. I also think my film contains many key features of the films like Tiny Times and The House That Never Dies. So people around me all estimate that it would turn a dark horse in box office earnings in September."
Liang says her confidence also comes from those heavyweights behind the films. The behind scenes cast includes Golden Horse Award winner, costume and makeup artist Chen Tongxun, Best Sound Design winner of the 30th Hong Kong Film Awards, sound designer Zhao Nan and film editor Curran Pang, who rose to his fame for the 2002 Hong Kong police detective film I Want to Be You or Wu-Jian-Dao in Chinese.
"Inside the Girls" will hit the big screens around China starting from the 12th.
