The Play Date
Lizzy went to Kim’s house
for a play date.
The girls wanted to go skating.
“Your room is a big mess,”
said Kim’s mom.
“Clean up this messy room.
Then you can skate
until it’s time for Lizzy
to go home.”
“I’ll help,” said Lizzy.
“We can clean up fast.”
Lizzy picked up a little bed.
“What is this little thing?”
she asked.
“It’s part of my dollhouse,”
said Kim.
Lizzy and Kim played with
the dollhouse.
“We have to stop playing,”
said Lizzy.
“Don’t forget.
We want to go skating.”
Lizzy picked up a book.
“That is my new book
about cats,” said Kim.
“I love cats!” said Lizzy.
“We have to stop reading,”
said Kim.
“Don’t forget.
We want to go skating.”
Lizzy picked up a game.
“I like this game,” she said.
“Let’s play it,” said Kim.
“Then we have to finish
cleaning up,” said Lizzy.
Lizzy picked up a fancy hat.
She started to put it
in the closet.
But Kim said, “Put it on!”
“Wow! Look at all this stuff,”
Lizzy said.
“Let’s put it all on.”
“We have to stop playing
and clean up,” said Kim.
Lizzy picked up a little robot.
“How does this robot work?”
she asked.
“I’ll show you,” said Kim.
Then Kim’s mom
came in.
“Lizzy, your grandfather is here
to take you home,”
Kim’s mom said.
“It’s time to go.”
“Her grandpa is here?
He can’t be here yet!”
Kim said.
“We wanted to go skating!”
“It’s okay, Kim,” said Lizzy.
“I had a lot of fun
cleaning up your messy room!”
