They contain kinds of heavy metals and lead to heavy metal pollution. A square meter land will lose its permanent value when a battery be left in the field. Besides the heavy metals, the rest of the batteries are also not easy to be recycled. The disused batteries not only pollute the environment, but also do harm to our health. When we throw disused batteries into the rivers or lakes, it can pollute the water so that they would cause polluted water and poisoned food with heavy metals. Once we eat or drink them, we will easily get sick, even cancer. According to a survey, a button battery can pollute six hundred thousand liter water which equals the amount of water used by a person for whole life. So we shouldn’t leave the disused batteries away to protect the environment and our health. In our daily lives, we get used to throw the disused batteries into the rubbish bin without sorting. The teachers let us sort the rubbish so that we can recycle the materials from the batteries. There is only one earth in the world. We all should love her and protect her. So, let’s sort and recycle the disused batteries together. Environmental protection is up to us all.
