A monkey climbed the roof of a house and entertained the people with its antics（滑稽动作）.The audience gathered below to cheer for its tricks.
After it had gone, an ass(驴子） who craved（渴望） popularity climbed the roof and tried to perform the same tricks from memory.
In the process, it dislodged（移动） and broke several tiles（瓦片）. The owner of the house was furious（愤怒的）.
He ordered his servants to go up in a fury, drive the ass down, and beat it black and blue（青一块，紫一块）.
"What have I done?Why did you beat me?"said the donkey reluctantly（不情愿地）.
“Is the roof a place you can dance?See where this is!”The servant said and turned back.
