I’m currently living in Guangzhou, and at the moment, the weather here is not very nice.
Let’s have a listen to today’s conversation
A: Oh my god, it’s so humid today!
天啊，今天天气真潮湿啊!
B: I know, and it’s really stuffy. I can hardly breathe!
就是啊，而且特别闷热，我几乎呼吸不了！
A: I hate weather like this, it’s really gross. I feel all sticky.
我讨厌这种天气，特别难受，我觉得浑身粘粘的
B: Yeah, and the worst thing is, you can wash your clothes but they’ll never dry!
是啊，还有最糟糕的就是，你可以洗衣服但是衣服永远都干不了!
Ok let’s have a look at today’s expressions
It’s so humid!
天气真潮湿啊!
It’s really stuffy!
天气 (或一个地方) 很闷，很闷热
It’s really gross
天气很不舒服 （一般指太热，太潮湿的天气。gross ＝ 恶心)
I feel all sticky!
我觉得浑身粘粘的 (出汗，衣服湿了)
也可以说 It’s really sticky 天气很闷热 的另一种说法
提醒大家:
谈天气不说 “the weather is…”!
正确说法: It’s… (It’s hot, it’s cold, it’s humid …)
