George Washington Caver was an important American. He was born in Diamond Grave，Missouri，in 1864 . As a child，he liked to collect plants and rocks. He studied agriculture，the science of farming，in school. He made many discoveries that helped farmer. He also invented peanut butter. He was a great scientist.
