Longmen
Longmen, sheared[1] off, stretching across the wilds,
post-road trees come out from the city walls.
From the look of it an imperial dwelling[2] is near,
silver and gold, Buddhist temples appear.
The seasons have often changed as I passed back and forth,
but the River’s waters just keep going on.
I observe it on the road of my journey—
how often can this happen in a lifetime?
