Zip 拉链 The word “zip”both a noun and a verb. To zip is to open or close with a zip. Do you know at first the zip was called “a clasp locker？”It was invented in the early 1890‘s and the inventor gave it such a name. The zip or the zipper，is much used on clothes. Many dresses zip at the back. That is why sometimes a girl may ask her mother or sister to zip her dress up. The zip is much used on bags to so bags can be zipped up or open. The “zip” in the compound noun “zip code” has nothing to do with a real zip. A zip code，in American English，is a group of numbers added to the address on letters.
