Mt. Qingcheng is in Sichuan province in southwest China. It was inscribed as a world heritage site because of its role in the advent of Taoism, one of the main beliefs in China.
In the Hall of the Celestial Master, a great sage named Zhang Daoling is laid to rest. It’s said that he meditated in this cave and attained immortality. He’s believed to have had a special mark in his hand which could destroy demons and that he possessed supernatural powers to combat evil forces.
