MLB: Kansas City Smash Giants 7-2 to Tie Up World Series
In Major League Baseball,
Kansas City bats its way to victory in game two of the World Series, stopping the San Francisco Giants and tying the series at one game apiece.
The game remained even at 2-2 until the sixth inning, when Royals' designated hitter Billy Butler put his team ahead on an RBI single. KC's Salvador Perez followed up with a two-run double. The momentum kept going and the Royals ended the sixth up five runs over San Francisco.
A roster of clutch relievers helped the Royals contain the Giants and walk away from game two with a 7-2 home victory.
Butler had this to say about winning at home in Kansas City over a tough Giants team.
"They were playing really well, and they continue to play well. But we showed them that we have fight in us, and I think they knew that already. But we stepped up big there as a team, and that gave us some confidence in that clubhouse."
