Actress Angelina Jolie rips world powers on Syria's refugee crisis US actress Angelina Jolie has pleaded with world powers to help the millions of Syrian refugees. Sharply criticizing the U.N. Security Council for being paralyzed by its division over Syria's four-year conflict. Jolie briefed the council as special envoy for the U.N. on refugee issues. "Anyone of the Syrians I've met would speak more eloquently about the conflict than I ever could. Nearly 4 million Syrian refugees are victim of a conflict they have no part in, yet they are stigmatized, unwanted, and regarded as a burden so I'm here for them because this is their United Nations." She also urged council members to visit Syrian refugees and see the crisis for themselves. Jolie spoke as the council prepared to hear the details of a new plan for peace talks set to begin early next month in Geneva, with Syria's ally Iran among those invited. Bruce Jenner Reveals Gender Transition It's official. After months of speculation, Bruce Jenner has identified himself as a woman. The former Olympian champion and triathlete told Diane Sawyer in an exclusive interview that aired on ABC last night. Revealing it was something very hard for him to say, because he didn't want to disappoint people. Jenner is finally ready for the next chapter of his life. "I've got my health, I've got my children, I've got family, and I've got seven grandkids now. I'm actually really excited about the future, about what I could do, to be able to do some real good in the world." The news wasn't an unexpected admission from the former athlete. Much speculation in the buildup to the two-event assumed that Jenner's transition was the focus of the discussion. Jenner admitted that the transition has been far from easy. Even admitting there were times where he contemplated suicide, imagining taking a gun to his head. E Entertainment announced that Jenner will star in a docu-series this summer, chronicling his transition from male to female.
