Chinese cross talker Su Wenmao has passed away in Tianjin at the age of 86.
The news was first released on China's twitter-like Sina weibo account around 1 p.m..
The performing artist learnt his act from renowned cross talker Chang Baokun in the 1940s.
He later cooperated with many cross talkers, and enjoyed a high reputation for his "Su-styled cross talks" in the Chinese cross talking area.
Katy Perry Wrapped up 2 Concerts in Macao
International superstar Katy Perry has successfully wrapped up two concerts in Macao this weekend.
The singer performed hit songs including Teenage Dream, Dark Horse and Roar to excited fans.
Tickets were sold out instantly, the venue, Cotai Arena at the Venetian Macao, was filled both Friday and Saturday night.
Perry wore a sequined dress and a flower costume on stage.
The Prismatic World Tour, which continues to be a hugely successful global spectacle has sold out more than a hundred arenas across the globe.
According to Chinese media, fans have given Perry a nickname here in China as the "Fruit Sister".
Polanski gets film award in Poland
Polish filmmaker Roman Polanski has received the "Against the Current" award for independence in art at the 8th edition of the PKO Off Camera film festival in Krakow.
The same Polish city where a court is weighing a U.S. request for his extradition.
Polanski, who spent his childhood in Krakow, jokingly said he was happy to be award there "at long last."
In February, the Oscar-winning director appeared in a Krakow court for a hearing related to a U.S. request for his extradition concerning charges of sex with a minor, a case that has haunted him since 1977.
Russian ballerina Maya Plisetskaya dies 89
Maya Plis-et-skaya, who is regarded as one of the greatest ballerinas of the 20th century has died at the age of 89.
She died in Germany of a heart attack on Saturday.
Plis-et-skaya's career at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow spanned for more than 35 years.
President Vladimir Putin issued a message of condolence, and tributes came from across the dance world.
Plis-et-skaya was renowned for intense performances that contrasted with the ethereal style of many other dancers, especially in Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake."
She last took to the stage in 2000 for gala appearances, including a 75th birthday performance.
Coldplay donate $15,000 to quadruple amputee
British rock band Coldplay have donated 10,000 pounds, that's around 15,000 U.S. dollars, to an "inspiring" quadruple amputee, who lost his limbs to a deadly infection.
Chris Martin, the band's frontman, personally emailed Alex Lewis from England to say he had "renewed his faith in life."
Alex had contracted an infection which led to rare Strep A Toxic Shock Syndrome. His infected limbs were staring to poison his body and had to be amputated to save his life.
Martin's donation to the Alex Lewis Trust had been followed up by an email from a Coldplay employer saying the singer would personally like to get in touch.
He has since appeared on radio and TV to talk about how he wants to help others who are less fortunate than him.
Asa Butterfield leading the way to play Spider Man
Young English actor Asa Butterfield is reportedly leading the way to play the role of Spider Man in Marvel's cinematic universe.
As well as staring in a solo film in 2017, the role would also include a cameo in "Captain America: Civil War."
Last week it was reported that Sony and Marvel were down to just five young actors to play the role of Spider-Man.
Most recently, The Latino Review cited that it had reached several industry sources to confirm that Asa Butterfield was indeed the current front runner, and one source allegedly claimed that "Marvel has liked him since day one."
Asa Butterfield is most notably recognized for his role in the Academy Award-winning film "Hugo."
