Chinese banks to issue certificates of deposit China's central bank has issued a provisional regulation that allows financial institutions to issue certificates of deposit. The regulation is aim to giving banks more freedom over pricing interest rates. Under the new rule, individual investors can buy certificates of deposit worth at least 300-thousand yuan or around 48-thousand U.S. dollars, and institutional investors at least 10 million yuan. Interest on the certificates will be mainly determined by the market. Banks and investors can set a fixed, or a floating rate, using the Shanghai Interbank Offered Rate as a benchmark. Pact will attract cosmetic surgeons Medical and cosmetic surgery services from South Korea are expected to become more widely available in China. This is due to a bilateral free trade agreement signed by both sides on Monday. Under the agreement, doctors who are licensed in South Korea, including plastic surgeons, can work in China for six months to a year. At least 4 killed in helicopter crash in Nepal A private helicopter has crashed in Nepal, killing at least 4 people. Nepal police have confirmed the crash of a Mountain Air helicopter in the area of Yamuna Dada. A team of local police has reached the site of the crash and recovered the bodies of three men and one woman. Initial investigation says the helicopter was flying a relief mission. Egyptian court postpones final verdict on former president Morsi's death sentence An Egyptian court has postponed issuing a final ruling over a death sentence recommendation for former Islamist President Mohamed Morsi and other top Muslim Brotherhood leaders in 2011 jailbreak case. The court was expected to give a final ruling for a recommended death sentence decided last month, but head judge Shaaban al-Shamy said the case was postponed to June 16. Morsi was removed by then-army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi nearly two years ago following mass protests against his rule.
