Manager trying to confirm safety of band Eagles of Death Metal
The California rock band Eagles of Death Metal were on stage at the packed Paris nightclub Friday when gunmen stormed in, cut down dozens of fans with automatic weapons fire and held hundreds hostage for several hours.
Family members have said the band itself, including singer and guitarist Jesse Hughes, were able to escape the attack at Le Bataclan, one of several that unfolded simultaneously across Paris. But some members of the crew remain unaccounted for.
Management for the band say they are "trying to determine the safety and whereabouts" of the band and its crew.
The band, formed in 1998 in Palm Desert, California, was celebrating the October release of "Zipper Metal" with an European tour.
U2 Paris Concert and HBO Special Canceled Amid Deadly Attacks
Saturday night's concert in Paris by the Irish band U2 has been cancelled in the wake of the deadly terrorist attacks in the French capital.
The November 14 show was set to take place at the Bercy Arena, which is about three miles from the Bataclan theater, the concert venue where dozens of hostages were held captive, before being killed on Friday.
HBO had planned to broadcast a concert special of the scheduled Saturday night performance, part of the Irish rock band's current 'iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE' world tour.

Director Steve Spielberg joined Tom Hanks and cast members of his latest Cold War drama-thriller 'Bridge of Spies' at its European premiere in Berlin, Friday.
The film's name comes from a bridge in the German capital that was used during the cold war as a place to exchange prisoners between the United States and the Soviet Union.
Hanks plays a U.S. lawyer involved in the negotiations to exchange prisoners, a story based on true events.
Amy Ryan plays Mary Donovan, the wife of the character played by Hanks.

Mainland TV drama scores crossover success in Taiwan
A hit mainland period drama is enjoying similar popularity in Taiwan, in the latest example of cross-Strait TV success.
Since the first of the 54 episodes was shown on November 3, it has consistently had one of the top three primetime audience ratings in Taiwan.
It even maintained that success rate on Tuesday and Wednesday, when it went up against live baseball matches involving a team representing the island.
Such crossover successes have been few and far between.
The last was "Empresses in the Palace" in 2012, which not only gained high audience ratings on its premiere in Taiwan but has been rerun several times by Taiwan TV channels.
Taiwan exported many TV dramas to the mainland in the 1980s and 1990s. The trade has reversed since then, as the quality of mainland programs has caught up.
One Direction's hiatus will last two years
One Direction say they are now planning to take a two year break from the limelight.
It was first thought that Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne would be taking a break for a year, but Liam has now revealed they plan to spend 24 months focusing on their own projects.
Liam has also said he and the band are looking forward to celebrating the success of the last five years, during their break.

The China-South Africa Cultural Industry Cooperation Forum has been held in South Africa's capital city Pretoria, as part of "The Year of China in South Africa."
After two days of intense discussions, scholars and experts say strengthening cooperation and communication could be significant, as it would help promote understanding between the two peoples.
Tony Kgoroge is the president of the Cultural & Creative Industries Federation of South Africa.
"So, even though there can be language barriers, in terms of that, using art to bring people together, it just breaks down these barriers where language becomes a problem."
As an important communicative platform for exchanging ideas in the cultural creative industry, this year's forum also summarized the successful cooperation experience between the two countries.
