Zhang Ziyi Gives Birth to a Girl
Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi has announced on her Weibo account that she has given birth to a baby girl.
Zhang didn't reveal the exact time of her delivery.
Zhang posted a picture of the baby's hand on Weibo on December 28th, 2015.
The message was forwarded over 15,000 times and attracted more than 18,000 comments in 56 minutes.
Zhang accepted the proposal of Chinese rock star Wang Feng at her birthday party on February 7th this year.
"Mojin"tops the weekly chart and "Devil and Angel"leads weekend box office
At the Chinese box office, "Mojin: The Lost Legend," "Mr. Six," and "Devil and Angel," make up the top three through this past week.
"Mojin" has pulled in around 94-million US dollars since its release.
However, the big film this past weekend was "Devil and Angel" which stars Deng Chao and Sun Li.
The comedy pulled in 207 million yuan this weekend.
However, "Devil and Angel" has only scored a 3.8 out of 10 on Chinese movie review site Douban.
"Mr. Six" which debuted on Thursday has taken third place in both the weekly and weekend box office.
In the North American box office,
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" continues its box office romp on North American screens, adding to earnings that already have shattered records.
Debuting in the number two spot was a comedy "Daddy's Home," staring Will Farrell and Mark Wahlberg, which has pulled in 38.8 million US dollars since its release on Thursday.
In third with 17.5 million US dollars is "Joy," starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.
"A Bite Of China: Celebrating The Chinese New Year" releases trailer
A new promo for the popular Chinese series "A Bite of China" has been released.
The trailer is for the latest in the documentary series: "A Bite Of China: Celebrating The Chinese New Year."
Unlike the popular TV documentaries, this edition of "Bite of China" is a full-length feature.
It takes the audience through the various cooking styles across China used to mark the Spring Festival.
The film, directed by Chen Xiaoqing, is set to screen in Chinese theatres on January 7th.
"The Walk" releases Chinese trailer
A Chinese trailer for the American 3D docu-drama "The Walk" has been released.
The film is based around the story of French high-wire artist Philippe Petit's walk between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center on August 7th, 1974.
Robert Zemeckis is directing the film, which stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon and James Badge Dale.
The film went out in North America in September.
Its set to hit theatres here in China on January 22nd.
Oscar winning cameraman Haskell Wexler dies at 93
Haskell Wexler, one of Hollywood's most famous and honored cinematographers, has passed away.
Wexler was 93.
He's credited for creating innovative approachs to camera work, which helped him win Oscars for "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and the Woody Guthrie biopic "Bound for Glory."
A well-known activist, Wexler photographed some of the most socially relevant and influential films of the 1960s and 1970s.
These included the Jane Fonda-Jon Voight anti-war classic, "Coming Home," as well as the Oscar-winning adaptation of Ken Kesey's "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest."
Wexler was well known enough outside of Hollywood circles to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Dwayne Johnson sings to his daughter Jasmine during Christmas
Action star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has won the Internet again with an absolutely adorable video of him singing to his baby daughter Jasmine. The actor's baby with girlfriend Lauren Hashian was born on December 16.
In the video, Johnson gives a snippet of Nat King Cole's 'The Christmas Song' before panning down to Jasmine.
Last week, the wrestler-turned-actor posted a picture of himself with Jasmine on his chest, writing: "Christmas came early!" He added: "Within minutes of being born she was laying on daddy's chest. And being a grateful man takes on a whole new meaning…"
The 43-year-old actor has become one of Hollywood's most bankable stars after his successful performance in "Furious 7" of the "Fast and Furious" franchise.
