Two American films, 'Carol' and 'Bridge of Spies' lead the nominations at this year's British Academy of Film and Television Arts annual awards.
The lesbian romance and the Cold War thriller both scored nine nominations in the shortlist for Britain's equivalent of the Oscars, including best picture.
Other movies nominated in the best films category are: 'The Big Short', 'The Revenant' and 'Spotlight'.
The survival saga 'The Revenant' picked up eight nominations, and the latest in the Mad Max franchise 'Fury Road' claimed seven nominations.
Also, last year's Best Actor winner, Eddie Redmayne, is nominated again for his performance in 'The Danish Girl'.
The Oscar-winning actor portrays the famous painter Lili Elbe in the film, who also known as the first recipient of a sex-change operation.
And his co-star Alicia Vikander won two nominations at the awards, including Best Actress for 'The Danish Girl' and Best Supporting Actress for 'Ex Machina'.
6,500 members of the British film academy will decide the winners of the British trophies.
The awards will be presented at a ceremony in London on February 14th, two weeks ahead of Hollywood's Academy Awards.
