"Free Birds" Dubbed by Xie Na and He Jiong Premieres in China Popular Chinese TV hosts He Jiong and Xie Na says they had fun dubbing the American cartoon movie "Free Birds." The film premiered in Beijing on Thursday. The 3-D animated comedy tells the story of two turkeys from opposite sides of the tracks who must put aside their differences and team up to travel back in time in order to change the course of history. Their goal, of course, is to get turkey off of the holiday menu – for good. He Jiong dubbed the voice of Reggie, who is secretly in love with Xie Na's character Jenny. Xie joked that, in real life, this was not the case. She also spoke about the way she came to love her role. "When I first heard I was supposed to dub the voice of a turkey, I resisted the role. But after I saw parts of the film, I found my character to be really cute. She is a unique turkey. She insists on wearing a necklace even though turkey necks aren't good for necklaces." The film will hit Chinese screens Friday, March 7th. Aaron Paul Hopes to Join "Breaking Bad" Spinoff "Breaking Bad" fans who have not gotten enough of the hit show that ended earlier this year can now look forward to the spinoff series "Better Call Saul." Aaron Paul, who starred as Jesse Pinkman in the original series, may be returning to his character in the spinoff. He has had serious talks with "Better Call Saul" co-creator Vince Gilligan about joining the new project. Paul says he is ready and eager to work with Gilligan again. "Of course. Anything Vince is involved with, I'm there. If he wants me there, I'm there. I owe him my entire career. Yeah, and the idea of jumping into the skin of Jesse Pinkman again in his lighter days -- because it's all a prequel -- it would be fun." "Better Call Saul" will star Bob Odenkirk and is set to premiere in November on AMC. Kid Cudi Releases Surprise New Album Last night Kid Cudi released his new album, "Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon" on iTunes as a total surprise. The rapper hinted that something would be hitting digital stores at midnight by tweeting a picture that said "Tickets to Copernicus Landing will be available for purchase via iTunes in the next 2 hours… so pack up and stay tuned to this feed for the link." "Copernicus Landing" turned out to be one of the ten tracks on the surprise album, which follows Cudi's 2013 LP, Indicud. Along with the new album, Cudi has also recently scored a role in the upcoming "Entourage" movie and will be making his big-screen debut on March 14th when he appears opposite Aaron Paul in "Need for Speed." New Playwriting Prize to Honor Philip Seymour Hoffman A playwriting prize is to be named after late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, funded by a libel settlement from US paper The National Enquirer. Just days after Hoffman's passing, The National Enquirer printed a falsified story making allegations about the relationship between Hoffman and his close friend David Katz. Katz sued the publication and received considerable monetary compensation. The recently established prize will be known as the Relentless Award, in a nod to Hoffman's pursuit of artistic truth and integrity. It is meant to help struggling playwrights meet their financial needs Katy Perry 'Dark Horse' Video Accused of Blasphemy Katy Perry has been accused by some Muslims of portraying blasphemy in the video for her single "Dark Horse." The video features the pop star as an Egyptian queen who transforms suitors into sand by disintegrating them. Shazad Iqbal has started an online petition for the video to be removed from YouTube after he spotted one of the disintegrated suitors wearing a pendant with the Arabic word for God on it. Iqbal, along with those who have signed his petition, believes that Perry is using the name of God in an irrelevant and distasteful manner. The Dark Horse video has attracted more than 34 million views since it premiered on YouTube on February 20th. Perry's record label and YouTube have yet to respond to the petition.
