The producers of Chinese horror film "Bunshinsaba 3", or 笔仙, have won a law suit against those behind horror film "Death is here 3", or in Chinese 笔仙惊魂.
Beijing third intermediate people's court ruled on Tuesday that "Death is here 3" is to pay 500,000 yuan in compensation, and apologize to "Bunshinsaba 3" for malfeasant competition.
The "Bunshinsaba" series is directed by South Korean director Ahn Byeong-ki and has been very successful in the Chinese market.
The "Death is here" series, which sounds very much like "Bunshinsaba" in Chinese, has been trying to mislead the viewers into believing that they are also part of the successful franchise.
"Death is here 3" has earned 32 million yuan at the box office, while "Bunshinsaba 3" is yet to be screened on 4th of July.
