A woman in East China's Zhejiang Province called police after receiving an ominous package and harassing phone calls from a seller on Taobao over a negative review.
The buyer, identified as "Yin," said her Taobao troubles began when she purchased a dress from a seller in December. Obviously she wasn't happy with the product. She rated the transaction as "poor" after having difficulties returning the dress.
Then a package arrived at her door on January 12 containing stacks of sacrificial "ghost money," that's paper bills usually burned during funeral rites. Such a gift is believed to wish bad luck on the recipient.
According to Yin, the seller followed up with numerous harassing calls to retract the review.
Luckily, Taobao tracked the package and the platform has since shut down the store and blocked the user's account.
