Donnie Yen and Michelle Bai joined director Teddy Chan at the very wet premiere this past weekend.
Despite the torrential rain and chilly temperatures, Yen was in high spirits while walking down the soggy red carpet.
"You know, in Chinese rain means money. So, it's very fortunate. It's a good thing."
His co-star Michelle Bai, on the other hand, was a little surprised by the weather.
"It's my first time. I feel the weather is cold. It's colder than Beijing. The people are very nice and I'm very glad to be here during the London Film Festival."
Almost 250 films are screening as part of the annual festival.
Yen says he is delighted that his film is one of them.
"I think it's great. It's really exciting. We just practically landed from Hong Kong. Actually, I've never seen the film, so for me tonight is my first time, our first time."
Teddy Chan directed Donnie Yen in Bodyguards & Assassins in 2009, which won the Best Film category at the Hong Kong Film Awards.
Chan is echoing Yen's view, saying being part of the festival in London is a "great honor."
"I've been to some Chinese film festivals in London, but this is the first time at this one. When I saw the screen, I was like 'wow, what a huge screen.' I love this."
"Kung Fu Jungle" stars Yen as a police martial arts instructor, who gets imprisoned after accidentally killing a man. But when a serial killer begins murdering martial arts masters, he offers to help the police in return for his freedom.
Filming begain in mid-July last year. Teddy Chan approached Donnie Yen to star in the film after Donnie withdrew from the lead role in "Ip Man 3″ due to an internal dispute among the production team.
The name of the film has been changed twice. The first two, One Person's Martial Arts Circle and Last of the Best, did not fit the taste of the producers quite well.
Director Chan says he hopes fans will enjoy the film and according to him it is not an "average" Kung Fu production.
"I do hope they (enjoy it), because I put two elements together. Kung Fu is Kung Fu, but I put a serial killer story in a cop film, so I do hope they can enjoy 100 minutes of my film."
The London Film Festival runs until this Sunday.
"Kung Fu Jungle" is set to hit the screens in the Chinese mainland by the end of this month.
