介绍:
Hi guys, how are you doing? This is Cristina from the team Only for the Top One of New Oriental School and glad to have you here every Thursday. Everyone seems really busy these days. The Christmas is approaching, New Year is approaching, and winter vacation is approaching. But before that, we have to do a lot of work and to take the exams. So here come the questions: have you ever stayed up late to finish your homework? Do you often put off things till the deadline? If your answers are YES, then you are procrastinating. First, let’s see what procrastination is. Basically, procrastination is the act of putting off or delaying important tasks until a later time or deadline. People who usually procrastinate are called procrastinators. This is what a procrastinator always does. If he had to hand in an assignment in a week, for the first day, he might think that “there is one week for me to do it” and then he did nothing. And three days later, he might consider that “I will get started soon and do it well under pressure”, and then he did nothing. Another three days past when he had to submit the assignment next morning, what he did is to burn the midnight oil and finish his work, maybe crying. So are you a procrastinator? I asked my students and most of them are. So what do you do when you are procrastinating? Chatting online with friends and reading their moments? Or just sit there thinking about nothing? I bet a lot of you must be doing something significant which is cleaning you desk! But still, the work must be done, and procrastination brings you nothing but bad mood, stress, anxiety and even health problem. You want a healthy life, right? So let’s overcome procrastination. Step one, come on, just admit it, you are procrastinating. You have to face the truth that you must complete the mission in time. C’est la vie(this is life). And then start the task immediately by writing it down along with its deadline and breaking it into several small sections which makes your task easy to deal with. Tell your family or your friends about your goal and they will encourage or motivate you. After getting your work done, reward yourself and enjoy the next one. Procrastination is the thief of time. Don’t let it. Got a lot of work to do and see you next time. Background music: some nights - fun
