1. Trojan horse, 特洛伊木马。指卧底或阴谋。
It is a tale from the Trojan War about a military trick that the Greeks used to enter the city of Troy and win the war. After a 10-year battle, the Greeks made a huge wooden horse, and hid some men inside. The Greeks pretended to sail away, and the Trojans pulled the horse into their city as a victory trophy. That night the Greek force went out of the horse and opened the gates for the rest of the Greek army. The Greeks then entered and destroyed the city of Troy.
传说在特洛伊战争中，希腊联军围困特洛伊城久攻不下，于是假装撤退，留下一只巨大的中空木马。特洛伊守军不知是计，把木马运进城中作为战利品。夜深人静之际，木马腹中躲藏的希腊士兵打开城门，放进军队，特洛伊城就此沦陷。这就是历史上有名的木马计。后人常用“特洛伊木马”来比喻在敌方营垒里埋下伏兵里应外合的军事行动。现也常用来指代一种电脑病毒——它通过伪装，引诱用户下载有毒软件，也称木马病毒。
2. labour of Sisyphus, 西西弗斯的苦役 。
Sisyphus was the King of Corinth. Since he offended gods, he was punished to roll a huge stone up a hill, only to watch it roll back down, and had to roll it up again, repeating this action forever.
西西弗斯是科林斯城邦的君主。由于触怒众神，他受罚推巨石上山。这块巨石在临近山顶时又突然滚落下来，必须重新推上山。如此循环不息，永无休止。根据这一传说，后世便用labour of Sisyphus喻指永无休止的苦工或徒劳无功。

It is said that Eris, the goddess of discord, was not invited to a wedding, so she crashed the party and tossed a golden apple inscribed with the word "to the fairest" to guests. The apple sparked a dispute among Hera, Athena and Aphrodite. Finally, Zeus decided to send the three goddesses to Paris, the Trojan prince, and let him decide who was the fairest. Each of the three goddesses tried to bribe Paris but Aphrodite&`&s promise got him that she would give him the most beautiful woman in the world. Then Paris set off to get Helen, which started the Trojan War. To this day, an apple of discord means any situation or act that causes a trouble or dispute.
