I just think it’s a little over-the-top.
over the top一般指的是:
beyond a certain limit or quota
eg: The new salesmen are excellent. They were over the top within the first six months.
eg: We didn't go over the top. We didn't even get half of what we set out to collect.
excessive or outrageous
过分的,夸张的;
eg: Maybe he went a little bit over the top with some of his language.
eg: The comedy was so over-the-top that most of the audience was embarrassed.
eg: Perhaps I was a little bit over the top, accusing you of being a traitor.
