I come from a family of lawyers. My grandfather was a lawyer. My father was a lawyer. I thought that the legal profession is all about giving advice, but you're not acting, you’re not making decisions.
So I wanted to be in a role where I could sort of drive decisions. Making investment decisions, that’s a good opportunity for me, so I made that switch.
I met Jack through a friend of mine in Taiwan. When I get to Hangzhou, I see this apartment with about 15 people working very hard in the apartment. They were still recording registered users in a book, I mean, that was how manual really was. 28 thousand registered users, I still remember that.
We spend the day and I talk to Jack. I said, “Jack, you know, if you want to raise capital, do all these great things, maybe I can help you. But the first thing is, you have to have a company to run a business.” Jack said, “No, I just have a domain name and a website.”
