Shanghai SIPG is to host Athletico Madrid in the Wanda International Football Tournament friendly match as part of the Spanish Club's pre-season tour of Asia.
Athletico's match against SIPG will be held at the Shanghai Stadium next month, where Sven-Goran Eriksson and Diego Simeone will match their wits in the battle.
SIPG currently stands in second place in the Chinese Super League in their first season under Eriksson.
Under Simeone, Atletico won the UEFA Europa League in 2012, the Copa del Rey in 2013 and La Liga in 2014, during which they also reached the UEFA Champions League final.
The two teams are set to start a two-stop tour with a match against J League side Sagan Tosu in Japan early in August.
