The Golden State Warriors have moved a step closer to their bid to join the history books, narrowly holding off the Memphis Grizzlies 100-99.
A road win over San Antonio on Monday and a home victory over Memphis on Tuesday will make Golden State the first team in NBA history to win 73 games during the regular season.
The '95-96 Bulls won 72.
However, San Antonio is shooting for a record of its own.
The Spurs are 39-0 at home, and are trying to become the first NBA team to go unbeaten at home in a season.
The loss by Memphis was also good news for Portland, as the Trailblazers remain half-a-game ahead of the Grizzlies for 5th in the West, as they were edged out by Minnesota 106-105 this Sunday morning.
