A draft regulation is under review in south China's Zhuhai City, which bans households in the city from keeping more than one dog. What's more, it also bans citizens living in the down town area from raising large dog breeds such as the Tibetan mastiff. Dog owners are alsoexpected topay some governmental fees. If the regulation goes through, it will take effect within this year, and Zhuhai will become the first city in the country to limit the number of dogs in each household. What do local people say? According to a recent survey of about 1,000 residents conducted by the law committee of the Zhuhai People's Congress, 70 percent of local residents are in favor of rules allowing no more than one dog per family.
